About Marleah Doherty

The Artist

Marleah Doherty taught in the Buffalo Public Schools for 30 years. When she retired in 2004, she bought several used watercolor books. These books were her introduction to a new world of color and creativity. Although she has occasionally taken lessons and attended seminars, she is mostly self-taught. Her family and friends are her motivators and critics. Historic Buffalo sites as well as everyday Buffalo scenes are the inspiration for many of her paintings

Themes and Medium

Many of the paintings depict well known places in Buffalo and Western New York. Original and Prints are available as noted on the Home page

Watercolor is Marleah’s primary medium, but occasionally she creates works of art with pastels and oils.
